Old Fashioned “Proats” (Protein Oatmeal)
These old-fashioned “proats” by Gabrielle Lenart are creamy, hearty, and the perfect addition to any morning you'd like to make cozier. Reminiscent of your favorite oatmeal cookie but with all the plant-based Chocho Superfood Protein you need to fuel your day.
Ingredients:
1 cup of water
A pinch of salt
1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
1/4 cup of raisins
1 serving of Mikuna Chocho Superfood Protein
1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract
2 Tbsp. of plant-based milk
Cinnamon and maple syrup for topping
Directions:
In a stovetop-safe pot, heat water and salt on high heat until it boils. Add oatmeal and raisins. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for 5 minutes or until oatmeal reaches desired consistency. (Gabrielle likes hers with a little bite!)
Remove from heat and add vanilla, Chocho protein powder, and plant-based milk to your desired consistency. Mix to combine, adding more plant-based milk if you'd like it to be creamier. Top with cinnamon and maple syrup, and enjoy!
