October 25, 2023, Mikuna proudly participated in the Whole Planet Foundation’s annual Party with a Purpose, held at the iconic Whole Foods Market headquarters in Austin, Texas. This vibrant event, hosted at Fair Market (1100 East 5th Street, Austin, TX 78702), brought together advocates, sponsors, and supporters to celebrate the foundation’s mission of alleviating global poverty through microcredit loans. Mikuna was thrilled to contribute to this inspiring cause, donating samples of our regenerative Chocho superfood products to all attendees, enhancing their experience with nutritious and sustainable offerings.
The evening was a lively celebration of entrepreneurship and community impact, featuring over 100 local and global silent auction items, internationally-inspired food and beverages, and captivating entertainment, including performances by DJ Ang and the Oro Dance Company. Mikuna’s contribution as a goody bag provider allowed every guest to take home a sample of our Chocho-based products, showcasing the nutritional power and environmental benefits of this ancient Andean legume. Attendees enjoyed exploring Chocho’s unique flavor and learning about its role in supporting regenerative agriculture and Andean farming communities.
Mikuna’s team immersed themselves in the event’s festive atmosphere, connecting with like-minded brands, Whole Planet Foundation supporters, and local Austin businesses. The event raised over $100,000, with contributions from sponsors, donors, and partners like Mikuna, directly funding microloans for entrepreneurs in 80 countries where Whole Foods Market sources products. The energy of the evening, from chef-selected food pairings to the vibrant auction, left Mikuna inspired by the shared commitment to empowering microentrepreneurs, particularly women, through sustainable financial opportunities.
