Mick Fanning's Protein Smoothie
Jun 19, 2022
Professional surfer and Mikuna brand ambassador Mick Fanning starts his day with a delicious smoothie that’s packed with berries, banana, oats, almond butter, and the one-ingredient plant protein, Mikuna Pure Chocho.
Ingredients (Serves 1)
- Mikuna Pure Chocho: 1/3 scoop (~20g protein)
- Organic frozen strawberries: 1/2 cup
- Organic frozen raspberries: 1/2 cup
- Organic banana: 1/2, peeled and frozen (about 1/4 cup sliced)
- Organic almond butter: 1 tbsp
- Organic oats: 2 tbsp (rolled, certified gluten-free if needed)
- Organic almond milk: 3/4 cup
- Ice cubes: 1/2 cup (optional, for a colder smoothie)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Slice and freeze the organic banana ahead of time (at least 2 hours) for a creamier texture. Measure out organic frozen strawberries and raspberries.
- Blend the Base: In a high-speed blender, combine the Mikuna Pure Chocho, organic frozen strawberries, organic frozen raspberries, frozen organic banana, organic almond butter, organic oats, and organic almond milk. Blend on medium-high speed for 30–45 seconds until smooth and creamy.
- Adjust Consistency: If the smoothie is too thick, add more organic almond milk, 1 tbsp at a time, and blend briefly until it reaches a smooth, drinkable consistency. Add ice cubes and blend again if a colder, thicker texture is desired.
- Serve: Pour the smoothie into a glass.
- Garnish: Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of organic oats or a sliced organic strawberry on top for visual appeal.
- Enjoy: Sip immediately for a refreshing, protein-packed smoothie!
Tips
- For a sweeter flavor, add 1 tsp of organic maple syrup or honey before blending.
- Swap organic almond butter for organic peanut butter for a different nutty taste.
- Use certified gluten-free organic oats for a gluten-free option.
- Store any leftover smoothie in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours; shake or blend before serving.
